A somewhat shocking culinary void in the Hoboken food scene is about to get filled as Wingstop’s signature wings are officially making their way to Washington Street.
The Texas-based brand has already begun work at the storefront at 502 Washington Street, which had been home to a short-lived Kong Dog outpost. The company has also submitted an application to the city’s Historic Preservation Board for signage associated with their latest restaurant.
Wingstop operates a total of 50 fast-casual locations throughout New Jersey, including restaurants in Hudson County, specifically in Bayonne, North Bergen, Union City, and Jersey City. Founded in 1994, the chain has grown rapidly both internationally and across the United States.

The menu at Wingstop focuses unsurprisingly on wings, fries, and a few classic sides. The restaurant serves both classic (bone-in) and boneless varieties and offers customers the option to mix and match as part of a combo meal.
Wingstop’s wings are slathered in a variety of signature sauces spanning from their hot Atomic option to a Hickory Smoked BBQ blend. The citrusy heat of Mango Habanero, Garlic Parmesan, and a Hawaiian blend of island citrus with rich Asian flavors add to the fun.
The restaurant also offers crispy tenders that were recently introduced, as well as chicken sandwiches. A few varieties of fries include a Cajun option, or loaded with cheese sauce, ranch, and customizable toppings, round out the menu.
Wingstop has not yet announced when their Hoboken location could be up and running. Still, a construction permit has already been posted at the property, and interior demolition work has begun.
