My husband had reflux that was very bad, but it was also Conjestive Heart Failure. His mother, grandmother and younger brother all died from it since 1994. He was stubborn and ignored my warnings. His "indigestion" kept him up most of the night before passing on Sept 13, 2008. He had a massive heart attack and fell over on the bed dead before he knew what hit him. You were lucky that God wasn't ready for your 6 footer yet! My prayers are with you all. God was with all of you! My husband had reflux that was very bad, but it was also Conjestive Heart Failure. I browse and read all your quirky expressions and laugh. I love Tole Tv and visit it often. My year too has been one of highs and lows, My sister died of cancer of the ephsophogus,,excuse the spelling, in March.She was experiencing difficulty swallowing and we took her in for a scope to see what was going on. She had acid reflux for about 5 or6 years and was on Prisolex for it, we all figured it was a ulcer. Well to our shock, it was cancer, stage 4, and terminal.This was the end of February. We took her to a specialist, and I of course, researched every cancer cure from lima beans to green sea weed, and every treatment center I could. The doctors put in a stomach tube,and then a lung tube cause her left lung was filling with fluid.I and my family were in shock, how could this happen? So I ask the oncologist,,what caused this cancer and he said "Without a doubt, acid reflux" I bout fell over,,heartburn causes cancer? Why didnt Nexium and Prilosex and all those companies tell us?And if you'll watch the commercials you'll see, they don't even now. Sadly I lost my sister, in 5 weeks, we never had a chance to fight it, we never had a chance to accept it, and even today I sit here in shock. So you wonder why I'm telling you? So if you have a loved one or anyone who suffers from acid reflux, to get a scope, and make sure they do biospies when they do it. I didn't think anything good would come out of sisters death, but it has, I had a scope, I have Barricks a precancerous condition, and several others I've told have gone and been checked. I'm praying for you and your family, I'm glad ur hubby is okay..God works in wonderful ways, some he gives a chance to stay behind and spread the news, and others he takes, so we that are still here, educate others. His family doctor sent him home! The cardiologist called and told him to get back to the ER. The next day, they put a stint in. May you and your husband have many more joyous Christmases!
