An Italian café that started in Hoboken half a decade ago is heading north later this year as Alessio’s will be opening what will be their largest restaurant on the Weehawken waterfront.
Hartz Mountain Industries recently announced that the restaurant will be coming to the retail space on the ground floor inside The Reserve at Estuary complex. Known for its curated culinary offerings and rustic charm inspired by Italy’s Puglia region, the Weehawken outpost will span 2,200 square feet, featuring both interior and exterior space.
“The Reserve at Estuary is the final capstone of our 40-year waterfront transformation, and we’re proud to welcome a local owner whose vision perfectly complements the sense of place we’ve built here,” said Gus Milano, President and COO of Hartz Mountain Industries. “Alessio’s isn’t just a great local addition – it reflects our commitment to bringing in thoughtful, community-driven partners who enhance the lifestyle and vibrancy of Lincoln Harbor for residents and visitors alike.”

Alessio’s Café was founded by Weehawken resident Luca Infantino, who named the business after his son. It was initially launched on Park Avenue in Hoboken in 2020 and has since expanded to a storefront in Jersey City’s The Heights neighborhood and inside Hoboken’s ResilenCity Park.
“After 15 years living in Weehawken, it means a great deal to bring Alessio’s to my own community,” said Luca. “This brand is a reflection of who I am – Italian roots, global perspective and a genuine love for people. I want this to be a gathering place where everyone feels welcome, where quality isn’t compromised, and where you can always count on a great meal with fantastic service.”

The menu at Alessio’s is an all-day affair, starting with breakfast sandwiches and pastries while moving towards paninis, pizza, salads, and pasta during the later hours. The brand is also recognized for its creative sandwich program, where certain menu items support rotating charitable causes.
Alessio’s Café is slated to join a mix of retail and dining options at Lincoln Harbor that include a Whole Foods, Drift, Blu on the Hudson, Chart House, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
